Damn

To be honest, I don't know where to start reviewing, because I like this song a lot, dude. This drug, though, sounds amazing. I must try it. =]
Anyways, I'll attempt to review, this, alright?
I like how it starts. Reminds me of, I dunno if you've ever played Soul Calibur II, but the part when LEON is showed, it plays that type of music. I don't know what to call it. Hopefully you know what I'm talking about...
I like those snares. Remind me of jamaican shit. The kick is even nicer. Nice and hard. The way I like it. Kinda gay, but still....
I'm liking the little melody arp things. Fading out, nice. Hard kick. Wow? Like african sounding, or something, I dunno. Technologic African. Well, that bass, is not african. It's fuckin' dope, though.
Phone call... be right back....
Alright. It was my mom. I'm getting soup. Right on.
So back to the song.... >.>
I like the clap, man. Nice and echoey. It's good. The hats are pretty nice, too. For some reason, I hate those damned things, but not this time.
Back to the classical, thing. Alright. Not a bad transition.
I like this beat part. It's nice. Jamaican like techno.
The new melody is crazy man! I think I hear the pad in the background. Did you use that in I Thank You? Well, no matter, it works for this song.
Crazy arping. Crazy bass. Crazy beat. It's all crazy.
This song is good man. I like it a lot.

Them snares <3

I love them snares. They sound nice. Is that a bass drum with it? Right on. They mix very well together.
This reminds me of a battle theme, if you ask me, but not like a tough battle.
I like the piano thingy, or whatever. The bass is pretty good, but it might be a little too powerful, if you ask me. Might want to tone it's volume down a bit.
I like the guitar, but I kinda wish you would have kept the guitar volume up, when you brought the beat back in. I like this song, man. It's really fuckin' sweet.
Not much to really improve on.

thanks, man :)

gonna try to improve it.

Wow....

I'm not really a fan of your intro. I don't like a constant hi-hat, one bit. The kick is alright, but like this song sounds really chaotic.
So we've established, your intro sucks. Your melody needs work. It sounds like a chaotic thing, and I'm not digging it, but I do like the sound, if that makes sense.
Those claps have to go, too. They are just awful. They sound like an FL pack, thing or something.
The voice thing was pretty cool, though. I like it when you made it get quiet, and like, there was no noise then like bass bass bass, it was tight.
Dude... those claps... No... No... No..
I'm sorry, but this song isn't very good at all. It has good potential, but... it's not very good.

Thanks for the review!

I actually like constructive criticism! I will try harder next time,

Also, if you notice I did change the section from "dance" to "Heavy Metal". So, it is kinda supposed to be chaotic,

Anyways thanks for the review,
Hope to please you better next time,
-Liam

I dislike loops =[

Hmm... Well... Let me give a quick listen first. Hmm...
Alright back at zero. Starts off alright. No problems really. Solid beat I guess, what the fuck is that!? The insturmnet you introduced at :12 is pure shit, dude. Like That is awful....
I like the insturment that comes in at :24 or so. It sounds pretty cool man.
Now, for that beat, you need some FX on it. I like your kick, but I wonder if your kicks would sound better without headphones if you layered them. I can't hear them, unless I get the headphones.
I dislike your hi hats a lot, too. They sound really plain. I think a small reveerb would do. About 7-10% would do the trick. Same for your crash, too.

Not too bad.

I like the crackling. Sounds like a classic turntable. Like the one in courage the cowardly dog.
I like your melodies, for the most part. They're pretty good, and this is something that I can't do.
Your beat is alright, but like, you need to put some FX on it. It'd sound better, if you ask me. They sound super plain. I don't like the constant piano at 102. Like is sounds good at first, but then it's like STFU, man.
It went on WAY TOO LONG. It's giving me a headache. Finally. Now it's chill. Like I said, you have the beat, but it sounds really plain to me. Try a reveerd, or something. Reveerb like... 10-15%

SessileNomad responds:

yeah i can understand where your coming from with that whole section being like annoying, im not very good at writing solos, which is kinda what i was goin for in that, i wanted to put some fx and shit in there but i also wanted the main focus to be the piano, pretty much the cackling was as far as i would go with my fx xD

im glad you liked the cacking too...

peace yo thx for review

Eh... Dude....

Alright. So a music box theme. Going for a Davy Jones, or something. Just kidding. The melody is okay, but I think it's kind of struggling to hit the fast notes, and the high ones, to be honest. And it doesn't sound very good.
I don't like the violin thing you brought in. At a certain point, it sounds off to me. Not the entire thing, but when I match it to the melody, there is a small section that sounds off, but it could be the fact that the music box melody is struggling. The bass kick is nice, though.
1:36 introduces a trumpet or something, that sounds awful. Now this song is super filled, though, which is a good thing. No emptiness. The choir sounds pretty good, but I don't know if that trumpet is a really good sound for the choir. Do you have better insturments for this? I could see this with a more electronic vibe in it, dude.
I liked how you went back to the single melody. It's a good way to do it. The ending was superb, but it was good, man. Nice job.

BlinkMarine responds:

Well i'd like to say thanks for actually reviewing this song cause not many people bother to give me reviews.
I don't have a big orchestral library, but i'm downloading some stuff now.
I actually put that bass kick in last, i felt something was missing, i thought it sounded good too.
I'll review yours now!

Lulz

I don't know much about this genre, but this sounds alright. I mean, I don't really like the song, but I mean, based off other R&B I hear, it sounds alright. I like the bell you have at 58. I was disappointed that it was short, but you reintroduced it a few times, which is a plus.
Don't you think it'd be nice to make a hip hop song based off of that bell with a rough beat. You could make some real hardcore hip hop, I bet, man.
The song isn't really all that special, but it's pretty good dude. I don't really see any flaws, I only see things that I could do to this track, you know? But of course, that's only to fit my taste, not necessarily make it better.

Beat some ass.

I'm liking this revving intro, man. It's getting me pumped. Alright... should end soon... Here's hoping. Here we go. Damn, dude, some of this sounds like the sound is reversed, man. I'm digging this. A lot.
The beat is nice and hard. Making me bob my head, just like you should. But I'm experiencing a problem, here. Nothing has coming to... entrance me, yet. Like it's pretty sweet what you have here, but you don't have an off the hook lead where you just let it rip, you know.
I like the part where the beat gets quiet, and you have the synth do it's job. I didn't like the crazy quick arp, ending with energy. Is that the end? Yeah.
The song felt short, even though 240 is pretty long. You should have put an insane synth in there with an out of this world melody, I'm sure you would have succeeded in making something hard. This is solid, my man.

Let me give a listen first

Well, the slow start kinda sounds nice. It's nice, but I don't like the... creep up melody, if that makes sence. Like the tiptoe melody. The song is good, I'm digging the guitar, but I don't like the back melody to it at the start, but it's nice when you do the scale up quick, but not the boop de boop type sound.
I'm not much of a fan on that ending, either. I didn't like that it echoed to an end. It just left me feeling unsatisfied.
No doubt though, this song is cool.

Thanks!

Eh...

I like the bass riff with the beat. Sounds pretty cool. I like hearing the slide, and the the guitar is alright, but kinda annoys me, to be honest. Except the lead guitar, or whatever. They just don't seem to mix together. Like, I can't really explain it, but it sounds like you have 4 instruments going in a different direction. The only one that sounds good to me is the bass and beat.
Perhaps you could change them up, or something, I dunno. Some of the shit sounds out of key, or just totally opposite in melody composition...

Last-Illness responds:

Wow, thanx for the fast feedback.
I am glad you liked the beat and the bass. I wanted to go crazy on this one but it seems that it was a bad thing to do. I hardly think that the problem is out key places because I am playing on a constant C# minor pentatonic scale and I memorized the whole pentatonic scales by heart. During the rhythm parts, the rhythm guitar is playing exactly the same notes that the bass guitar is playing, so the reason that you are hearing each instrument playing a different thing is the poor recording quality, I am sorry about that but I can't do anything about it at the moment (if you wanna know why, read my news post).
Thank you for the review and I will review one of your songs as soon as possible.

It's been a frickin' minute.
