submission: Zero G

This reminds me of DKC2. But once the beat actually starts going, not really. But it is a good song.
I like all the weird factory like sounds and effects. I'm not sure on this genre, so I can't really say anything bad. It's like it has no point of direction, but maybe that's the idea. Sounds like music out of pots and pans, man.
Kinda neat, dude.

Author's Response:

Yeah the main focus to the track was all the fx that i put into it. I had some verse structure to it to keep it from just being completely off the walls.

Thank you for the review man and see you around!

I love doing glitch work, I recently aquired a kaoss pad so i can do live modulation while recording. so be ready to expect some cooler stuff in the future.

"Pokemon?"

date: August 30, 2009

This song doesn't seem all that familiar to me, from kingdom hearts. Perhaps I just don't remember it, though. It really reminds me of a pokemon song, from the old GBC games.
It's alright. Like, I wouldn't download it or nothing, but it sounds decent. Nothing to fancy to me, really. Not that it's bad.
Good job. I don't really know how to help you improve.

So starting off with a filter, maybe, and a volume automation. Very nice start. Like it indeed. I liked your little snare roll, to kinda rev the song up, but I hated the crashes, lol. It still sounds decent though, so no worries.
But it doesn't seem to have much of a variation after you rev it. So what was the point? Like, I understand techno style things are repetitive, trust me I make music too, but I didn't notice a difference. And from the looks of it, it never did change.
Oh my, I do like your outro, though. I liked the bass. Was that there the whole time?
It's not bad, just kinda short and what have you, man.

Author's Response:

I admit I've used the same delayed crash always for the end of the breaks. But I've not worked hard on them. I've especially tried a mixture of melodies from my synths. The bass doesn't change.
Thanks for the review.

date: February 13, 2009

What a wicked intro. It's pretty odd, but I like it. It evens out into something really nice and flow, though. I mean, the whole thing sounded good thus far.
I like the glitchy sounds that you are using. It adds a unique flare to the song.
I'm gonna have to say that this sounds pretty different compared to your other songs. It's not mellow like most.
I like your beat. It's pretty sick, dude.
The insturments are good sounded, and the melodies are just flawless.
I don't have any complaints, to be honest, dude.

Thanks for the review!

I spent a lot of time making sure no one element was overpowering the other elements while still keeping in mind that this is supposed to be background music for a future cityscape course.

The adrenaline needed to be pumping and feel edgy so that the race would feel more intense as you handle through tight corners and all that.

"Alright, man. Bass."

date: January 12, 2009

So let me start off by saying, I like this bass. It sounds really nice. The thing that you bring in with it is prett nice, too.
I like that kick. Nice and solid. You have a good beat all together. Pro ass claps. It's nice.
I like this odd sound at :48. I don't know what it's called, but I like it. Sounds like an insturment made from a metal pipe. It has a really good melody, though. Especially when it's deep. I like that. It sounds pro as fuck with the beat.
I hate how it constantly builds up, goes to basic, then builds back up. I dunno. It just kinda bugs me...
I don't like when you have the clap going like rest 2+ rest 4+. Does that make sense? Hopefully. I think a rest 2+ rest 4 would sound better. Not the constant two, but a two, then one.
The song ends on a decent point, too. Nice work.

Echoz- Teh Happy Song

"Pretty fly."

date: January 12, 2009

I like how the song is like fading in. I'm assuming that was like a mix between volume and a filter? I dunno. Not exactly sure, but whatever it was, was definately cool, man.
I like your beat, I kinda wish the kick was a little louder, actually. The claps sound nice. But I'm not really a fan of your hi hats. I dunno. I'm really picky about those, things.
You have really nice sounding melodies in here, dude. Your bass sounds good. You have a good choice for insturments, too. They make the song sound super happy, if you ask me. Which, hey, sometimes it's good to hear a happy thing.
I like your arp thing around 2:10, I know it came in before that, but whatever. It was still really cool.
It sounds like the song is realy full, now. That's a great thing, man.
It was a bit odd when you brought in the drum roll, but then everything stopped for that siren thingy, then everything came back in. But hey, whatever man.
The song sounds pretty dope, honestly.

Author's Response:

Lowpass Filter on the percussion in the intro. Hats.. meh.. they're VEC1 stuff I think. I liked them. I think the bass was a soundfont.. and the arp.. umm.. a tweaked Vanguard preset with some added chorus and phase.

But yesh.. I payed a lot of attention to the mix on the fullness trying to aim for that.. so I'm glad that you liked the mix overall and such.

Thanks for the review! =D

So you start with a kick. Solid sounding. Got a firm beat, so far. I like that bass, actually. It's a pretty cool riff you made, actually. Now we just need a nice high pitched melody.
Sounds weird with no beat, dude.
That beep is awful. That, I'm assumingm is from you stopping the bass, because you didn't use it in a piano roll, it just creates a constant echo. In order to rid that, you can put an automation on the volume. Then when you bring it back in, you can turn the volume back on. I'm just guessing, though.
There's not much to this thing. Needs a badass melody, if you ask me...

"Damn"

date: January 3, 2009

To be honest, I don't know where to start reviewing, because I like this song a lot, dude. This drug, though, sounds amazing. I must try it. =]
Anyways, I'll attempt to review, this, alright?
I like how it starts. Reminds me of, I dunno if you've ever played Soul Calibur II, but the part when LEON is showed, it plays that type of music. I don't know what to call it. Hopefully you know what I'm talking about...
I like those snares. Remind me of jamaican shit. The kick is even nicer. Nice and hard. The way I like it. Kinda gay, but still....
I'm liking the little melody arp things. Fading out, nice. Hard kick. Wow? Like african sounding, or something, I dunno. Technologic African. Well, that bass, is not african. It's fuckin' dope, though.
Phone call... be right back....
Alright. It was my mom. I'm getting soup. Right on.
So back to the song.... >.>
I like the clap, man. Nice and echoey. It's good. The hats are pretty nice, too. For some reason, I hate those damned things, but not this time.
Back to the classical, thing. Alright. Not a bad transition.
I like this beat part. It's nice. Jamaican like techno.
The new melody is crazy man! I think I hear the pad in the background. Did you use that in I Thank You? Well, no matter, it works for this song.
Crazy arping. Crazy bass. Crazy beat. It's all crazy.
This song is good man. I like it a lot.

"Them snares <3"

date: January 3, 2009

I love them snares. They sound nice. Is that a bass drum with it? Right on. They mix very well together.
This reminds me of a battle theme, if you ask me, but not like a tough battle.
I like the piano thingy, or whatever. The bass is pretty good, but it might be a little too powerful, if you ask me. Might want to tone it's volume down a bit.
I like the guitar, but I kinda wish you would have kept the guitar volume up, when you brought the beat back in. I like this song, man. It's really fuckin' sweet.
Not much to really improve on.

I'm not really a fan of your intro. I don't like a constant hi-hat, one bit. The kick is alright, but like this song sounds really chaotic.
So we've established, your intro sucks. Your melody needs work. It sounds like a chaotic thing, and I'm not digging it, but I do like the sound, if that makes sense.
Those claps have to go, too. They are just awful. They sound like an FL pack, thing or something.
The voice thing was pretty cool, though. I like it when you made it get quiet, and like, there was no noise then like bass bass bass, it was tight.
Dude... those claps... No... No... No..
I'm sorry, but this song isn't very good at all. It has good potential, but... it's not very good.

I actually like constructive criticism! I will try harder next time,

Also, if you notice I did change the section from "dance" to "Heavy Metal". So, it is kinda supposed to be chaotic,

Anyways thanks for the review,
Hope to please you better next time,
